Khan Muhammad

Title: Intelligent Video Summary Generation: Current Challenges and Future Directions

Khan Muhammad (S’16-M’18) received his PhD degree in Digital Contents from Sejong University, Republic of Korea. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Software and Lead Researcher of Intelligent Media Laboratory, Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea. His research interests include intelligent video surveillance (fire/smoke scene analysis, transportation systems, and disaster management), medical image analysis, (brain MRI, diagnostic hysteroscopy, and wireless capsule endoscopy), information security (steganography, encryption, watermarking, and image hashing), video summarization, multimedia, computer vision, IoT, and smart cities. He has filed/published over seven patents and 140+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences in these areas. He is serving as a reviewer for over 70 well-reputed journals and conferences, from IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier, Wily, SAGE, and Hindawi publishers. He acted as a TPC member and session chair at more than 10 conferences in related areas. He is editorial board member of the “Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Systems” and Review Editor for the Section “Mathematics of Computation and Data Science” in the journal “Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics”.

Gautam Srivastava

Title: The Future of Blockchain Technology

Dr. Gautam Srivastava was awarded his B.Sc. degree from Briar Cliff University in U.S.A. in the year 2004, followed by his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in the years 2006 and 2011, respectively. He then taught for 3 years at the University of Victoria in the Department of Computer Science, where he was regarded as one of the top undergraduate professors in the Computer Science Course Instruction at the University. From there in the year 2014, he joined a tenure-track position at Brandon University in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, where he currently is active in various professional and scholarly activities. He was promoted to the rank Associate Professor in January 2018. Dr. G, as he is popularly known, is active in research in the field of Data Mining and Big Data. In his 8-year academic career, he has published a total of 143 papers in high-impact conferences in many countries and in high-status journals (SCI, SCIE) and has also delivered invited guest lectures on Big Data, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, and Cryptography at many Taiwanese and Czech universities. He is an Editor of several international scientific research journals. He currently has active research projects with other academics in Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, Czech Republic, Poland and U.S.A. He is constantly looking for collaboration opportunities with foreign professors and students. Gautam’s research is funded by federal grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS).
